Mentor Couple Prayer

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
who have called us to play a special role
in your eternal love story through our vocation to marriage.

We ask you Lord, God of relationships,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
to guide us as we welcome the engaged couples you send us.
Inspire us to speak the right words,
and help us to model your love in our actions.

Pour your Grace upon these couples: (name the engaged).
Open their hearts and teach them to love one another as you love us:
to accept each other as imperfect gift,
to always be present and to help each other grow,
to sacrifice and to accommodate each other so they can become one,
to forgive each other and to ask forgiveness,
to comfort, console, and help each other heal,
and to serve God and each other.

Lord, walk with us as we accompany the engaged
on our common journey toward you.
Help us to become each day worthy signs of your presence
as you call us to be through the sacramental graces of marriage.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
